Review: EM Cosmetics Pillow Plush Cushiony Lip Balms

This lip balm is very moisturizing while still giving you a hint of color.  It costs $15 and you can get it HERE.  It comes in 7 shades ranging from nudes to berries.  It comes in a little pot with .176 oz in it.  The packaging is very cute and easy to take on the go.  The lid is kind of domed.  The color is very sheer which I enjoy especially with this color because it can go with anything.  It does have a little bit of a vanilla/sweet scent to it but it is pretty much undetectable when worn.  This is very soft and moisturizing.  I think its more moisturizing than the Nivea Lip Balms.  This isn't sticky either. For me this product is a win because it's something that goes with anything, has a little bit of a glossy finish to it and something I can just slap on without having to worry about it.  This is just any easy product.  I am considering getting more in the future.  I would recommend this.

Review: EM Cosmetics Shade Play Artistic Eye Shadow Palettes

I had seen several reviews on the Life Palettes but none on the smaller palettes so when EM was having a sale for them I got two of the palettes I had my eyes on from the start!  These palettes are $38/each which I do think is a little bit steep but I got mine on sale for $25/each which I think is much more reasonable.  I would wait for a sale if you are wanting these. You can purchase these HERE.  The pigmentation I think is pretty good.  Some of the mattes are not as pigmented as the more shimmery ones but overall pretty good.  I don't think these are very chalky.  One down fall I think for a lot of people will be that there aren't more matte shades in each palette.  I think there is only one maybe two in each of the ones I got.  These palettes don't swatch great but when applied to the eyes they are beautiful and blend easily.

With Urban Decay or theBalm their shadows are extremely soft, these ones are a little bit harder.  Also there can be a little fall out with some of the darker shades but, no more than other brands.  One other thing that is a plus but also a downfall is not all the shadows are the same size.  This makes it visually very cute in the packaging but some shadows are a fraction of the size of the main shadow in the middle.  The palettes have a good range of colors in them and come with 6 shadows per palette.  There are 15 different palettes to choose from.  There is a lot of selection which I think is awesome.

I REALLY enjoy the packaging.  Its has a HUGE mirror and is very compact.  This will be really easy to travel with.  The packaging also has a magnetic closure and is plastic.  These will be super easy to keep clean.  I personally really enjoy the palettes that I have and with such a huge variety of sets if there is another sale I may get more.  I probably will not purchase at full price though because if you compare it to my Too Faced Boudoir Eyes Palette that has 9 shades and costs $36.

Review: EM Cosmetics Shade Play Lip Palette in Mix It Up Roses

Em Cosmetics is the new make up line from fellow YouTuber Michelle Phan.{Her YouTube Channel}. It is a high end brand with several unique items.  I've gotten a few different items from them so I thought I would just break them down piece by piece.

This is going to be all about the Lip Palette!  I wasn't sure if I should get this or not because I'm not much of a lip person but they had a special deal going on at the time so I decided I would get it.  This palette comes in six different selections with six different colors in each palette.  The lip products in each palette.  Each palette has a color theme.  So the Mix It Up Roses Palette is all rosier colors.  I ultimately picked this palette because fall was coming and because I though it closely matched my natural lip color so I knew it would be easy for me to pull it off.

You can order this on EMCosmetics.com and they are $28 each.  I LOVE the packaging on this!  It has a magnetic closure and is a sturdy plastic.  It is easy to keep clean.  It comes with a little lip brush and a little mixing pot for you to make your own custom shade which I just love! Also a really large mirror. This is a great product to just throw in your purse. The product itself lasts a decent amount of time and has great color pay off.  Its also extremely comfortable to wear. There's a lot of different textures in each palette so you can have some variety.

I would definitely recommend this and I will probably get more!  I love this!  I do think it is worth the cost!

Review: EM Waterliners

The Waterliners honestly are some of the BEST eyeliners out there!  I find myself reaching for these more than my Urban Decay 24/7 Liners.  These come in 12 shades.  There is definitely a good variety of colors.  These are $20 each and you can get them HERE!  This glide on very smoothly and last seriously forever!  These are the best eyeliners for the waterline, hence the name Waterliner.  The colors are very saturated.  I can not recommend these enough!  If you can afford a high end liner go for these over Urban Decay!  For me, these last longer in the water line.  The other really nice thing is that they come in a twist up.  They also come with a smudger(that works really well) and you can take out the smudger and the other end has a sharpener.  This is so convenient.

I LOVE THESE!

Now... for the SWATCHES!

Review: EM Eye Primer

The EM Eye Primer is a clear primer that has a doe foot applicator.  This costs $15 and you can get it HERE!  Personally,  I was not that impressed.  I felt like at the end of the day the eye shadow applied over the top faded and creased a little bit.  I tried this a few times to make sure it was not a fluke but unfortunately it was not.  Although, less expensive than other high end eye primers does not work as well.  I will continue to use Urban Decay Primer Potion or Too Faced Shadow Insurance over this primer.

Review: EM Shade Play Concealer Mixing Palette

So, something I was really interested in was the Shade Play Concealer Palette because I watched Michelle's video on the website and it kind of explained what each color is.  It has an orange shade for under the eyes, a yellow shade for redness, a color that matches your skin tone, a shade lighter, a shade darker and a highlight shade.  I got mine in the color light for $30.  You can get it HERE!  I truly love this!  It is so convenient.  You can mix shades and use this year round.  The concealers are very creamy.  I use this for all over my face.  The coverage I would say is medium for the most part.  The staying power I feel is pretty good.  This is going to be so perfect for when I visit my sister in April!  This is great for travel because it has every concealer you need.  I really recommend this!  It comes in 4 shades.  It's in an acrylic case with magnetic closure.

Review: EM Chiaroscuro Contour & Highlight Stick

This is think is a very unique product because it is in a stick form and it a cream product.  I have the color Fair Tones.  This retails for $25 and you can get it HERE.  This is, for me at least, a really cool product but not something totally necessary.  It has a nice champagne highlight on one side and a cool brown contour on the other side.  Even though at first I was concerned how cool toned the contour side was it looks very natural when it is applied.  This is super easy to blend with fingers or a brush.  It doesn't fade too much through out the day.  I think this would be great for travel because it has two products right there.  Both sides seem to have a magnetic closure so, I wouldn't be that concerned with the covers coming off.  This makes it really easy to contour and highlight and really blend it in seamlessly. If you are someone who is wanting a really strong contour maybe go a shade darker than what you think because this is more subtle.  I would recommend this but its not totally necessary.  I do really enjoy this though.

Review: EM Cosmetics Smoothing Face Primer

When I was getting things from EM I thought I would get somethings that I hadn't seen a lot of reviews on and this was one of them.  This is a face primer that is translucent in color and is supposed to fill pores and prolong the wear of your make up throughout the day.  I did demo this in a foundation routine recently.  You can view that .  This primer retails for $25 which for a luxury brand is in the same range, if not less expensive, then Benefit or Kat Von D.  So I don't mind the price point for a luxury primer.  I use one pump concentrated in my "T" zone which is where most of my visible pores are and where I get the most oily.  This absolutely helps my foundation apply smoother and last longer.  It makes my skin feel smooth and soft to the touch.  It leaves a matte finish.  It comes in a plastic container(which is excellent for travel) and a pump!  Having a pump on things is just amazing.   I really like this primer.  If you are someone with oily skin that particularly wants something more high end, this is a good one to try.   CLICK HERE to get it!

Foundation Routine Using Urban Decay NAKED Skin Foundation

Review:
This foundation is on the spendy side at $39 at Sephora. {GET IT HERE}  It is very liquidy and with light to medium coverage.  It can be builded up a little.  I personally HATED this with a brush so if you are going to get this I would recommend a {}.  Definetly feel free to try it with a brush, it make work for you that way.  The color 3.0 matches me perfectly.  This comes in 18 different shades which is great!  Because this is a more expensive foundation make sure you get a sample first before making the investment.  This is plastic packaging with a pump which I can really appreciate.  I do really enjoy this. I have pretty oily skin and I can wear this as long as I set it with a powder and I may need to do touch ups through out the day.  This foundation gives a really natural, skin-like appearance.
